The YMCA of Southeastern NC Athletic Department is excited to announce the Camp line up for 2025!

As summer quickly approaches I wanted to give you a list of upcoming programs.  We have summer long training programs with Y Staff-Coaches, 3 different types of soccer camps, flag football camps.  If after reviewing the information below you have further information please let me know.   [email protected]

 

SUMMER DAY CAMPS  (Soccer & Flag Football)

2021 Sports Camps will be held at the YMCA at 2710 Market Street.  We chose this location due to the amount of shade around the field, misting system and access to the pools.  

 

AGES 5 to 14

FULL-DAY CAMPS INCLUDE:  

EARLY DROP OFF (7 AM to 9 AM)

LATE PICK-UP (4 PM to 6 PM)

ONE HOUR OF SWIMMING

BREAKFAST & LUNCH

 

YMCA SOCCER DAY CAMP HALF DAY & FULL DAY

Campers can switch between Soccer and Flag Football each day.

Join the YMCA Soccer Staff this summer and have fun perfecting your game.  Learn new skills and have fun as The Y Coaching Staff focuses on developing skills while learning the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship.  Daily drills and weekly competitions to ensure skill development, team building exercises and games to promote the development of the whole athlete.

FLAG FOOTBALL DAY CAMP

Campers can switch between Soccer and Flag Football each day.

The Y’s Flag Football Camp focuses on developing skills while learning the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. Daily drills and weekly competitions will develop your little athlete’s skills, techniques and sportsmanship.

AGES 5 to 14   FULL DAY  9 AM to 4 PM     $200  ($188 Members)

GENERAL SPORT CAMPERS DAY:
Early Drop Off (7 AM to 9 AM) & Late Pick-Up (4 PM to 6 PM) is provided.

AM Half-Day Soccer Camp 
9 AM to Noon
-Players should bring water, a water bottle with their name as I will have refill stations available. 
-Shin guards are required,  cleats are not but recommended.
Drop-Off:    YMCA Fields:       8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Pick-Up:      YMCA Fields:     12:00 PM (Noon)
 
Full-Day Soccer Camp 
9 AM to 4 PM
-Players should bring water, a water bottle with their name as I will have refill stations available. 
-Shin guards are required,  cleats are not but recommended.
-Swim suit and a towel. 
-Slides (flip-flops), this so I can let their feet breath during breaks.
-Sunscreen, we will ensure it is reapplied after lunch.
-Snacks, these kids use up a lot of energy.  (We have a refrigerator at the field.)
Drop-Off:    YMCA Fields:     8:00 AM to 9:00 AM   
Pick-Up:      YMCA Fields:     4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Q: What is the daily schedule?

7:00am - 9:15am: Supervised Free Time

9:15am - 10:00am: Warm-Up & Morning Activity

10:00am - 10:10am: Group Break

10:10am - 11:00am: Drills/Games

11:00am - 11:10am: Group Break

11:10am - 11:50am: Scrimmages/Tournament

11:45am - 12:00pm: Cool Down

12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch Break

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Drills/Games

2:00pm - 4:00pm: Swim Break

4:00pm - 6:00pm: Supervised Free Time

 

Q: What items are needed for camp?

 

Half Day

  • Water bottle with child's name on it
  • Snacks - these kids use up a lot of energy 

Full Day

  • Water bottle with child's name on it

  • Swimsuit and a towel
  • Slides (flip-flops) - this is so they can let their feet breath during breaks
  • Sunscreen - we will ensure it is reapplied after lunch
  • Lunch - campers bring their own (we have a refrigerator at the field/gym) 

Sport-Specific Items

  • Soccer: Shin guards are required, cleats are not but recommended. *Please leave personal soccer balls at home.
  • Flag Football: Mouth guards are required, cleats are not but recommended.
  • Volleyball: Nothing required, knee pads recommended for newer players.
  • Futsal: Shin guards are required, non-marking shoes.
  • Multi-Sport: Nothing specific is required.
  • Dance: Nothing specific is required.
  • Girls on the Run: Good pair of running/walking shoes.  

 

Q: What happens if there is adverse weather?

A: For light weather, we will stay on-site and move to the cottage. For more severe weather, children will move to the gym. We have access to board games and a library of sports movies (Goal, The Miracle Match, The Big Green, Soccer Dog).

 

Q: Will my camper need a swimsuit or towel?

A: Only Full-Day campers will be swimming. Other campers will get wet from the misting system but dry fast.  

 

Q: I paid for a shirt when I registered, how do I get that?

A: On the first day of check-in, when we verify your cell phone number, we will issue your shirt. If you need to adjust the size, we will switch with you.  

 

Q: Who can pick up my child?

A: If a parent will not be picking up your child, please communicate with me via email at [email protected] with the specifics. DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE AT THE Y. I will not get that message, as I am on the fields with your kids, but I do have access to emails.  

 

Q: What should we expect from camp?

A: YMCA Sports Coaching Staff will work with players on three main objectives, which are for each child to have fun, build on self-esteem and learn fundamentals of their particular sport camp.  

 

Q: Do you apply sunscreen?

A: Campers should arrive with sunscreen on. Full-day campers will reapply after lunch. PLEASE put your name on the sunscreen. If a camper does not have sunscreen, we will provide them some. We DO NOT apply the sunscreen but do supervise to make sure they apply it.  

 

Q: Do campers get lunch and snacks?

A: We provide breakfast and an afternoon snack. Campers are responsible for their lunch. 

 

Q: Can I contact someone at the field if needed?

A: If you need to contact me, the best option is to email me at [email protected]. I do not keep my phone on me but check messages hourly. Messages left at the office do not get to me until the next day.
